As a fan of Susan Mallery's Blackberry Island series, I jumped at the chance to read a new series by her. Again this is a story about 3 friends living in a small-ish town but this time in California.
Nicole is the one time dancer turned yoga studio owner/instructor. Mum to a cute boy called Tyler, this follows the demise of her marriage to Eric. Personally I think she should have got rid of Eric from her life a while ago but it just takes her a while to catch up to us.
Pam is the older stateswoman, caring and kind and happily married to John. This is my sad story. I sobbed and I sobbed. The reality of the heartbreak (not further spoilers her) is amazing. You feel like you are living her life with her.
Shannon, the successful career woman that is starting to think that maybe she has missed out on something along the way.
I liked the book but I didn't love it like I did Barefoot Season from the Blackberry Island series. I felt like I knew what was coming for all 3 characters but it was still a nice weekend read and hasn't stopped me from reading book 2 of the series "The Friends We Keep". Review coming soon..
